Northeastern Brazil has helped shape the country’s cultural identity.
Creating the Nordestesse identity meant exploring the creative practices, techniques, beliefs, traditions and knowledge that define the region. Working across five fields — fashion, design, visual arts, gastronomy and hospitality — Nordestesse highlights products and services that preserve the region’s ancestral knowledge.
Spanning nine states and almost 20% of Brazil’s territory, the Northeast holds an even greater place in the country’s cultural identity.
Designed as a framework to showcase other projects, the identity system celebrates the region’s strength, history and diversity while challenging persistent stereotypes. An earthy color palette, sharp, angular forms and the powerful presence of the sun come together in a varied yet cohesive graphic system.
By supporting these creative fields, Nordestesse helps challenge one-dimensional portrayals of the region and reveal the richness of its culture.
